Beyond Taiwan
The gap we work on is information.
Beyond Taiwan started in May 2020 with seven people. Five years on, we are close to thirty organisers, all of us students, spread across seven countries.
What we believe
In Taiwan, studying abroad is still widely treated as something only well-off families get to consider. The harder barrier is not money alone. It is information: if no one around you has done it, you do not even know what to ask.
So students rule the option out before they ever look into it. Not because it does not suit them, but because no one has shown them what it actually involves.
We cannot make anyone's decision. What we can do is make sure they know what they are choosing between.
"We are not teachers and we are not consultants. Most of us are only a step or two ahead of you."
Free on purpose
Students pay nothing. This is not a fee we have yet to introduce. It is a deliberate design choice.
The gap we work on is information. Putting information behind a paywall would recreate the very problem we exist to solve.
Five years
Seven people in May 2020. Close to thirty organisers today, all students, across seven countries.
What happened in between, and how many people it reached, is on another page.
Who runs this
Two Co-Presidents, six teams, and a new group of organisers every year.
